-3Copy of the letter transmitting the CPT's report Strasbourg, 24 March 1997 Dear Sirs, In pursuance of Article 10, paragraph 1, of the European Convention for the prevention of torture and inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment, I have the honour to enclose herewith the report to the Government of Greece drawn up by the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CPT) after its visit to Greece from 4 to 6 November 1996. The report was adopted by the CPT at its 32nd meeting, held from 10 to 14 March 1997. The CPT requests the Greek authorities to provide, within six months, a report setting out details of the measures adopted to implement the recommendations in this report, and their reactions and responses to the comments and requests for information made therein (the Committee's recommendations, comments and requests for information appear in bold in the text).
