- Summary
Greek: Τμήμα Αλλοδαπών ΝΟΤΙΟΑΝΑΤΟΛΙΚΗΣ ΑΤΤΙΚΗΣ, Τμήματος Αλλοδαπών Νοτιοανατολικής Αττικής
This facility was known as the Elliniko pre-removal centre or the Elliniko special holding facility for foreigners. For a period of time it was used to detain women on one floor of the police station with a detention capacity of 100. A monitoring visit in October 2016 found that undocumented women were routinely held for an average of three months in this facility, in some cases with their children. At this time there were 30 police officers working at the facility.
The women's detention facility closed in January 2017. Following a protest rally outside the centre, the police evacuated the centre the same night, and transferred women to Petrou Ralli pre-removal detention centre, ostensibly for their security. It is unclear if the facility continues to be used to detain undocumented people.
